Komainu Selected as Custodian For ETC Group MSCI Digital Assets Select 20 ETP

Planned to list on Deutsche Börse XETRA in April

St. Helier, Jersey, April 12, 2023 -- Komainu, a regulated digital asset custody service provider built by institutions for institutions, today announced that ETC Group, a leading European issuer of digital asset-backed securities (ETPs) has selected them as custodian for its first index ETP. As the first digital asset ETP to be based on an MSCI index, the ETC Group MSCI Digital Assets Select 20 ETP is set to launch on Germany´s Deutsche Börse XETRA later this month.

The partnership with Komainu enables ETC Group to leverage its innovative ETP structuring capabilities whilst maintaining the highest standards of custody for investors. The new product tracks the MSCI Global Digital Assets Select 20 Capped Index — featuring the top 20 investable digital assets by market capitalization – thus providing investors with access to a broad-market index product for a truly diversified allocation to digital assets.

“We are proud to be chosen by ETC Group as the custodian for this ground-breaking digital asset ETP,” says Darren Jordan, Head of Sales at Komainu. “Komainu’s institutional-grade custody solution, regulatory framework and industry-leading technology make us the ideal custodian for issuers such as ETC Group, and we look forward to supporting their continued growth in the digital asset space.”

“Custody is always a primary focus for institutional investors when it comes to digital assets. Komainu is the ideal partner for this new benchmark product due to the industry-leading technology at the core of their offering, giving a breadth and flexibility unique in the market. They have a strong track record in providing the type of regulated, cold-storage custodial solutions demanded by institutional investors and this partnership reaffirms our commitment to selecting only tier one partners from both traditional and digital financial markets,” comments Tim Bevan, Co-CEO of ETC Group.
